Tipton Receives Solomon Valley Community Foundation Grant

On February 25, 2022, the City of Tipton was notified that it was a recipient of a Solomon Valley Community Foundation Grant which will be used for signage at the newly established Tipton Woods Trail.  The signage will incorporate the Tipton Cardinal mascot while showcasing the natural woodlands along the bike and walking trails. The signage designs will be integrated into the trail map, trailway signage and trail art to be installed along the trail.   Signage design is a collaberation of Doug Palen of NCK Outdoors and Nat Lopes, Park Designer from Hilride Progression Development Group, LLC. The City of Tipton is extremely grateful to be a recipient of this grant for trail signage to continue the transformation into a vibrant natural area and recreational resource for the community.  The pride and aspiration of the community are evident in the successful development of the trail with over 800 hours of volunteer time spent in addition to monetary and machinery use donations.

Since 2013, Solomon Valley Community Foundation has built stronger communities and helped donors make a difference through charitable giving in Mitchell County.  Each year, the foundation distributes thousands of dollars back to our region through community grants.  For more information on the Solomon Valley Community Foundation, go to www.solomonvalleycf.org.
