Ribbon Cutting at Tipton Woods Trail July 9, 2022

The official Ribbon Cutting for the Tipton Woods Trail took place on Saturday, July 9, 2022 to mark the completion and recognize those who made this tremendous endeavor possible.  Trail markers, distance markers and signage are completed in addition to the butterfly garden project which is being done by students at Tipton Community School ,  Tipton Catholic High School and science teacher, Brenda Colarossi.  Special attendees were Nat Lopes, trail designer and Kansas Interscholastic Cycling League Director, Tina Khan.  Doug Palen, NCK Outdoors President explained the beginning stages and process of building the trail, with additional comments by Tipton Mayor, Braden Hake and trail designer, Nat Lopes.  Brenda Colarossi, science teacher, explained the butterfly garden and monarch watch program conducted by Tipton students.  Kansas Interscholastic Cycling League Director, Tina Kahn, was present and commended the project and it's success.  The NCK Raptors Mountain Bike Team and NCK Outdoors Board of Directors were recognized as special guests.  Check out this special addition to Tipton and Mitchell County right off of Highway 181 on the south side of Tipton!
