CITY OF TIPTON – SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING – MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2024

A special meeting of the Tipton City Council was held at 7:00 pm on Monday, September 23, 2024 at City Hall.  The call for the meeting was signed written request by City Council members Mark Towner, Ben Avery and Sara Dilley.  The object and purpose of the request was to discuss selling of the restaurant building owned by the City of Tipton located on Lot 9, Block 27 in the City of Tipton, Mitchell County, Kansas;  physical address is 504 MainStreet, Tipton, Kansas.

Those present were Mayor Jarrod Shivers, City Clerk Brigit Gasper, City Council members Ben Avery, Mark Towner, Sara Dilley and Michael Ohnsat.  Absent was councilmember Jessica Krier.

Mayor Jarrod Shivers called the meeting to order.

The agenda was presented with the only agenda item being the sale of the restaurant building owned by the City of Tipton.

Reports showing the City’s income from the restaurant lease and the expenses for the building since 2017 were reviewed.

A motion was made by Mark Towner to move forward with selling the restaurant building.  Michael Ohnsat seconded the motion.  All in favor; motion carried.  Brigit will contact the City Attorney regarding this matter.

This being the only agenda item, meeting adjourned at 7:35 pm.
